Many tutorials on the cnc plasma cutting machine operation are broad and general, lacking clear and accurate operation steps. In this post, we are sharing with you a most detailed guide which has clear instructions step-by-step. Today we will talk about how to use a cnc plasma table with drilling head and rotary.

The CNC plasma table with rotary pipe cutting attachment has been favored by most users. However, some users will add a drilling head option to enable the machine to have a drilling function. In this way, the machine would have three functions: drilling (use drill head), plasma plate cutting, and plasma tube cutting. It is known as cnc plasma cutting and drilling machine.

EalgeTec-CNC is committed to building cnc plasma cutting tables of great quality and providing best after-sales support to our users. As a result, our machines have been sold to more than 50 countries.

Let's dive into details.

Step 1. Drilling Head Parameter Setup for CNC Plasma Table

• In this step, we need to set two parameters: Length of tapping, and Velocity of tapping.

• Press F4, enter into Setup menu.

• Press F4, enter into Z-axis menu

• Move the cursor to the item – Length of tapping, the appropriate value should be 5 or 6mm greater than the plate thickness. That’s the theory, let’s take a look at a specific example: if the plate is 8mm thick, then we type 14mm here.

• Input the value.

• Move the cursor to the item – Velocity of tapping, input 50 here.

• The setting principle is that the larger the diameter of the drill bit the slower the speed should be.

• Press F8 to save the parameters.

• Press ESC back to the initial menu.

Step 2. Clear Coordinate for Drill Head

• Press M, switch to Drill Mode.

• Use ↑↓← →, move the drilling head to a position where the drilling starts.

• Press the key “PgDn”, move the drilling head to a position about 2mm away from the surface of the workpiece.

• Press F8 to clear the coordinates and you’ll see they are all zero now.

Step 3. Clear Coordinate for Plasma Cutting Torch of the Plasma CNC Machine

• Press M, switch to Plasma Cut Mode.

• Use ↑↓← →, move the plasma torch to the lower-left corner of the plate.

• Press F8, clear the coordinate. All coordinates are zero now.

Step 4. Load File in the CNC Plasma Cutting System

• Press F2, enter into files management menu.

• Press F2, enter into U Disk File management.

• The key↓- move the cursor from the current file to the next file.

• The key PgDn – move to next page from current page

• Move the cursor to the file we need, press Enter.

• The shape being cut loaded

Step 5. Plasma Cutting Parameter Setup

• Press X to set the cutting speed. input the desired rate – 1100, press Enter to save. FYI, the cnc plasma cutting speed should be set to a reasonable value according to the thickness of the sheet and the power of the plasma source.

• Adjust the arc voltage to a reasonable value according to the thickness of the plate.

• Press this key to perform auto working.

Step 1. Clear Coordinate

• Press M, switch to Plasma Cut Mode.

• Use ↑↓← →, move the plasma torch to the centerline of the round tube.

• Press F8 to clear the coordinates, the coordinate values are all zero now.

• Switch on the rotary attachment.

Step 2. Tube Cutting Parameter Setup

• According to the diameter of the tube, we need to set the correct pulse value in the system.

• Press F4, enter into the Setup Menu.

• Press F5, and a dialog box pop out, press enter.

• We are in the System setup menu now; Type the correct pulse value in the column - Horizontal Axis Pulse

• You may ask: How do I know the pulse value?

• Use the formula: correct pulse value = π x D ÷136.2 x 139 (D here refers to the tube diameter)

• For example we need to cut a 200mm diameter tube, then by calculation, 3.14 x 200 ÷136.2 x 139 = 640.91

• Press F8 to save, press ESC back to the initial menu.

• Press X to set the cutting speed. Input the desired rate – 3000, press Enter to save it.

• Turn to knob on the THC controller to adjust the arc voltage to a reasonable value according to the thickness of the plate.

• Press this key to perform auto working.
