How To Use/Operate Fiber Laser Marking Machine – EagleTec CNC

Is the operation easy to handle? A fiber laser marking machine is a dedicated device for permanent marking on metallic and non-metallic materials. Its operation is not rocket science! When overseas users are looking to purchase a laser marking machine, they typically think about how to use it. This usually includes hardware setup on first use and program settings before marking/engraving every time. In today's post, let's take a closer look at this step-by-step process. The demo machine used in this post is a tabletop 50w fiber laser engraver built by EagleTec CNC.

Fiber Laser Setup

The fiber laser engraver is plug-and-play. Once you receive your new fiber laser marking machine, you'll need to do a simple setup. This part typically includes hooking up the power cord, connecting the computer to the laser machine, rotary, and air filter connection.

How Do I Turn On / Off My Fiber Laser?

Turn the key, please.

Press down the button to switch on the laser power

How Do I Do Focus for The Fiber Laser?

Use buttons UP and DOWN to make the machine head lift and drop until the two laser indicators coincide. The focus action is completed.

Marking/Engraving on Plane Surface

• Open EZCAD software on your computer, please

• Input vector file you are going to mark/engrave 

• Center it

• Hatch

Please set fiber laser marking machine parameters in ezcad program as follows: 

• Cancel the option "average distribute line."

• Set the option "edge offset" to be 0 

• Line distance – 0.1mm 

• Type: go with this option pls

• Click ok 

• Cancel the option "use default param."

• Set speed: 600mm/s

• Power ratio: 45%

• Click the icon – Light (F1)

• Click the icon – Mark (F2)

Now the marking/engraving process starts. 

How To Use Rotary Fiber Laser Marking? 

Use buttons UP and DOWN to make the machine head lift and drop until the two laser indicators coincide. The focus action is completed.

Please do laser marking machine settings in the program as below

• Click this icon

• Click the mouse in the blank space, and the word TEXT will appear

• Type the text here

• Click apply

• Use the key combination Ctrl + → to adjust the text direction to vertical

• Set a proper size for X here

• Click apply

• Center it

• Click the icon H

• Check these items mainly: type, line distance, the edge offset

• click ok 

• Click the icon – Light (F1)

• Click Laser, then click option – rotarytextmark

• Click part diameter

• Input the actual workpiece diameter here

• Click ok

• Click the icon – Light (F1)

• Click the icon – Mark (F2) to start to engrave
