A machine with RTCP function is a true 5 axis cnc foam router; otherwise, it is a fake 5-axis. All EagleTec 5 axis cnc machine has the RTCP.
RTCP is Rotated Tool Center Point, the function is to ensure that the actual contact point between the tooltip and the workpiece surface remains unchanged. With RTCP, the control system keeps the tool center always in the programmed coordinate. In this case, programming is independent and without regard to machine motion. When programming, you don't have to worry about machine movement and tool length. All you need to consider is only the relative motion between the tool and the workpiece. And the control system will do the rest for you.
Without RTCP, the programming will be much more complicated, as we have to consider more factors, such as the motion of the axis and the length of the tool; and make compensation accordingly during the programming process. For the same job, if the machine changed or the tool changed, programming has to be made again. As you can imagine, this will waste a lot of time on programming, and the mismachining tolerance will be correspondingly larger and the accuracy will be poor.
